Course Overview
The Step8Up Web Developer Skills Bootcamp is a Level 4 accredited, government-funded, 12-week intensive program crafted to propel careers in the tech industry. It’s designed for career changers, those with career gaps, unemployed individuals, team members in tech-oriented companies and those looking to enhance their digital skills and confidence to secure or advance in employment.
The bootcamp aims to equip participants with the skills needed for the digital age, supporting their progression into further learning, employment, and community involvement, while also fostering local job creation.

Participants gain job-readiness through practical projects, live guided sessions, and achieve BCS accreditation. The program includes comprehensive job placement support, featuring mock interviews, CV preparation, and soft skills coaching. Upon successful completion, every participant is offered an interview with an employer, providing a direct pathway to employment.

Modules
Prerequisite
Age
Be aged 19 or over on August 31, 2024, for bootcamps starting between April 1, 2025, and July 31, 2025, or on August 31, 2025, for bootcamps starting between August 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.
Residency
You must possess the right to work in the UK and have been a resident for a minimum of 3 years. While the program primarily targets residents of England, applicants from outside Hampshire within England may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Employment status
The bootcamp is open to individuals who are currently employed, self-employed, unemployed, or returning to the workforce after a break. This does not affect any Universal Credit.
Technical requirements
Candidates should have basic programming experience and access to a personal laptop with working webcam and mic (preferably less than 3 years old). Chromebooks, iPads or Tablets are unsuitable. There is an online assessment in the steps to apply followed by a short interview.
