Riverboat Cruise Hosted by the SBF
Last week’s Spelthorne Business Forum event was nothing short of inspiring, bringing together local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community champions for a morning filled with learning, networking, and celebration.
One of the highlights of the evening was the chance to celebrate Tracey Carter and her outstanding career as Chairman of the Spelthorne Business Forum. Tracey’s dedication and leadership have played a vital role in supporting local businesses and strengthening our community network. Her passion for helping others succeed continues to set the tone for what SBF stands for — collaboration, growth, and opportunity.
Impactful Speakers
We were also deeply moved by an impactful speaker from the Midas charity, who shared powerful insights into the organisation’s mission and the real-world difference they make every day. It was a reminder that business success and social responsibility go hand in hand, and that giving back can create lasting impact. In addition to inspiration, the morning provided practical value. Guests learned how they can upskill their staff in affordable and effective ways, we spoke with many decision makers trying to find the root of their problems and how we can help them grow. At Step8Up we help high performing teams, stay high performing by filling up their skills gap. Allowing them to continue to do great things.

Great Hospitality and Support
Of course, no great event is complete without great hospitality, and French Brothers ensured everyone enjoyed a memorable experience. Their delicious food and drinks set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable morning, taking the networking experience to the next level.
A particularly exciting highlight was SBF’s encouragement for SMEs to consider entering the King’s Award for Enterprise. As one of the most prestigious business accolades in the UK, this internationally recognised award can elevate small and medium-sized businesses to new heights. Hearing success stories and learning about the application process inspired many businesses and us included to see what might be possible if we won the award.
To round off the morning, guests enjoyed a fun-filled raffle with an incredible range of prizes — from vouchers to an amazing holiday getaway. It was the perfect way to end the enjoyable practical event that combined community, celebration, and opportunity.
Overall, the event was a fantastic reminder of what makes the Spelthorne business community so special — passionate people, meaningful connections, and a shared vision for growth.
