Reflecting on Two Inspiring Networking Events 

Over the week, The Step8Up team had the opportunity to attend two fantastic networking events — each offering something unique, valuable, and memorable in its own way. Networking will always be a key part of our business strategy. 

Business in Surrey Expo at Mercedes-Benz World 

The first was the Business in Surrey Expo, held at the incredible Mercedes-Benz World. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was going to be something special. The event was perfectly organised, and we were so well accommodated by Business in Surrey, who made the whole experience seamless. A further shoutout to the team at FSB for allowing for plenty of resources to be provided to us offering important guidance and connections. 

It was a true privilege to be surrounded by such a diverse range of industries and so many inspiring SMEs. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy — full of professionals eager to connect, share ideas, and explore opportunities and potential partnerships 

The venue itself was extraordinary — stunning visuals, a beautiful space, and lovely staff who made everyone feel welcome. Between the insightful seminars and the many spontaneous networking moments, we walked away with plenty of meaningful conversations and connections that we are really looking forward to exploring and developing. 

A Brilliant Experience with B2B Expo’s in Coventry 

The second event had a very different feel — smaller and more intimate, but equally rewarding. Sometimes it’s in these close-knit settings that the strongest connections are made. 

Step8Up had the pleasure of sharing a stand with the brilliant team at FL1 Digital, and it was great to spend time learning more about each other’s businesses and how we can collaborate in the future. The speed networking sessions were a real highlight — fast-paced, fun, and full of genuine insight. They gave us the chance to talk with some amazing domestic businesses and hear their perspectives on training and development and how it impacts SME’s improving ROI. 

The Village staff were exceptional throughout — warm, professional, and committed to making sure everyone had a positive experience. With lovely seating allowing for even more connections to be made, support was always ready if you needed it. The staff truly elevated the day. 

Looking Ahead 

Both events have left us feeling energise d, inspired, and grateful — not just for the connections made, but for the lessons learned along the way. Every conversation, every introduction, every shared idea is a step forward in understanding how we can continue to grow and support others in doing the same. Growing both as businesses but also as individuals. The Step8Up would like to thank everyone who stopped by and had a conversation with us, these interactions furthered our knowledge about where SME’s are hurting and what we can do to help,
